About this tool

The TikTok engagement rate formula

Engagement rate by views = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views × 100. Engagement rate by followers = the same interactions ÷ followers × 100. On TikTok, most views come from the For You feed, so the rate by views is usually the more meaningful one.

Why rate by followers can mislead

A small account can land a video with a million views, which makes its rate by followers look enormous. A large account can have steady views from followers but low interaction. Rate by views removes that distortion.

How to raise it

Open with a hook that makes the viewer stay, keep videos tight, ask a specific question people want to answer, and give people a reason to save (a list, a tip, a recipe). Replying to comments with video can also restart a conversation.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate engagement rate on TikTok?

Add likes, comments, shares and saves on a video, divide by its views, and multiply by 100. Average several recent videos for a stable number. You can also divide by followers, but on TikTok the rate by views is usually more useful.

What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?

Benchmarks published by analytics companies vary a lot by niche, account size and how they count. The best comparison is your own trend over time and similar accounts in your niche rather than a single universal number.

Do views count as engagement?

No. Views are the base you divide by. Engagement is what people did after watching: liking, commenting, sharing or saving.

Where can I see saves and shares on TikTok?

Open the video, tap the three dots or the analytics button, and look at the engagement section. Business and creator accounts see the most detail.

Is my data stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to FacelessGenie.
